I attended the presentation event of the Nichigo Junior Project 2017 where the Japanese students presented their disastrous experiences of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake, known as the Great East Japan Earthquake 3.11. I had the opportunity to hear direct the voices of the Eastern Japan earthquake victims.
Through them I learned of the recovery situation of the area affected by the nation's worst disaster since World War II.
I was hoping that these young people would continue to let the public know about their disastrous experiences but at the same time I would like them to gradually recover from their emotional and sad memories.
I feel so much sympathy to those who had lost their lives, in particular those who lost their families, close friends and their properties by this natural disaster.
Despite facing prolonged horrific experiences and suffering physically and emotionally (which is hard to recover from), these young victims are trying to push themselves forward with vitality.
Seeing them today, I would really like send my good wishes to them and I hold them in great esteem.
I would like to continue to provide them with our support which will be helpful to them. I am sure that these students will have a bright future.
