東日本大震災被災地の中学生をメルボルンに招待するプロジェクト

メルボルン研修を終えて

私は、オーストラリアに来る前は、視野が狭かったと思います。オーストラリアに来て、積極的に話したり、自分を主張することが大事だと感じ、少しは出来るようになったと思います。

学校の雰囲気も、予想以上に日本とは違っていてびっくりしました。学校では、みんな明るくて開放的で、自立していていいなと思いました。でも、日本の方が良いなという点もありました。ホームスティの方もとても良くしてくれ、家族の中での会話も沢山あって、愛情表現がしっかりしていて、すごくいいなと思いました。

一番心に残ったことは、「人の優しさ」です。　学校でも家でも、ドアを開けてくれたり、質問に笑顔で答えてくれたり、会ったばかりなのにとても優しくしてくれました。今回の体験で、資源の大切さと日常生活での人々との交流を見直すことができました。この二つは日本でも意識していけることで、とてもためになると思いました。オーストラリアに来ることが出来てよかったし、多くの方たちに感謝しています。

I realise that I had very narrow views before I experienced living in Australia. Now I realise that it is so important to express my own opinion, in fact, now I openly express my own opinion to others. The atmosphere of the school which I attended exceeded my expectations. The Australian school astonished me. In the classroom students are all acting with independently. They seem to be open minded persons.

Perhaps they have “freedom” if I compare their situation that of Japanese school students. However, I found that there are many advantages in Japan.

One of the best things which I have felt from Australian people was “YASASHISA” which was transferred to me from the people there.
If I translate this Japanese word into English, probably it will mean “the kind heart, or understanding with warm heart and patience”

At the School and at the Homestay, people kindly opened the door for me, replying to any of my questions with friendly smiles. Even in the first place, they welcomed me with their friendly attitudes. The most important things which I experienced and found out were No.1, we must care for the natural resources and No 2, the friendship and comradeship between the people in everyday life.

I appreciate the many people who were involved to bring this project fruition. I was happy and enjoyed these valuable occasions
