東日本大震災被災地の中学生をメルボルンに招待するプロジェクト

　オーストラリアの学校では、途中でお菓子を食べたり、パソコンを使ったり、携帯を持って来たりして、日本の学校とはずいぶん違っていると感じました。授業は、自分から、どんどん発言してとても積極的だと思いました。そして、みんな仲良く声をかけあっていて、それがいいなあと思いました。

　ホームスティでは、大変なことも多くあり、家の人たちに気を使わせてしまったのではないかと少しつらいと思うこともありましたが、みんな普段も周りの人をよく世話して生活してるのかなとも感じました。　オーストラリアでは、いろいろな国から来ている人がいっぱいいて、それがみんなオーストラリア人だと聞いて、びっくりしました。

　今回の経験から、自分から行動することの大切さを学びました。　もっと自分から発言したり行動したりするようにしていきたいと思いました。

I found that there are many different customs and systems between Australian and Japanese school.

In an Australian school, students can eat snacks during the classes, use PCs without asking permission and use mobile phones. We never see such things in Japanese schools; perhaps students obey different rules.

During classes, students were very active in expressing their opinion or stating their views openly. They exchanged their own ideas and thoughts with other students in a friendly way. Such outspoken views are rarely seen in classes in Japanese school. I wish we could have the same sort of interaction between the students in Japan.

At the home stay house, I sometime felt very sorry for them that they paid too much attention to me because of my ignorance, which is mainly I am not used to the Australian way. However, they were so kind and I guess they know how to look after overseas students like myself.

To my astonishment, I discovered that many ethnic people from overseas are living in Australia and they are Australian citizens. This is a new, big and most valuable finding.

Through these experiences in Australia I have learned that it is essential to have our own view and take action ourselves. We must express our own opinion with confidence, without hesitation to people.
